People’s Forum: Defend Disability Justice

Defend Disability Justice - stop the cuts to universal credit and personal independence payment

A resident led discussion and action, with speakers Svetlana Kotova from Inclusion London and Gerard Omasta- Milsom from Islington People’s Rights.

Universal Credit and PIP are lifelines for millions, and proposed cuts would push disabled people, carers, and low-income families deeper into hardship. Join us for a powerful event bringing together campaigners, community members, and allies to stand up for dignity, fairness, and social security that truly supports people. We’ll hear from speakers with lived experience, share what’s at stake, and build collective action to stop these damaging cuts. Whether you’re directly affected or want to show solidarity, your voice matters. Together, we can demand protection for Universal Credit and PIP and fight for a welfare system that works for everyone.

Start: Thursday, 16th April 2026• 06:45 PM

Location: Brickworks Community Centre, 42 Crouch Hill, Finsbury Park, London N4 4BY

Fully accessible building, and there will be a Youth Table (age 6+) for young people to join in on the discussion, or engage in a leisure activity.

Plus, hold your MP Jeremy Corbyn to account, hear his parliamentary report and ask questions.

All welcome, a free event for Islington North

“The People’s Forum is about doing politics differently - from the bottom up, for all of us. It’s a shared, democratic space for us to come together and organise, building the kind of world we want to live in.
